The Oti Region Administrative Complex serves as the administrative headquarters for the Oti Region, one of Ghana's sixteen regions created in 2019. Located in Dambai, the regional capital, the complex houses the offices of the Regional Coordinating Council and other key government departments responsible for regional administration and development.
The Oti Region Administrative Complex in Dambai serves as the seat of government for Ghana's Oti Region, the newest region created in 2019 following a national referendum. The complex houses the Regional Coordinating Council, led by the Regional Minister, and coordinates development activities across the region's eight districts. As the administrative nerve center, it oversees public services, development planning, and inter-governmental coordination for the Oti Region.
The Oti Region was carved out of the northern part of the Volta Region and officially inaugurated on February 15, 2019, as part of Ghana's decentralization initiative that created six new regions. Dambai was selected as the regional capital due to its central location and historical significance as a traditional area. The administrative complex was established to provide a dedicated hub for regional governance and to bring government services closer to the people of the Oti enclave.
The complex is located in central Dambai and is accessible via the main road from Kete Krachi or Jasikan. Visitors seeking official business should contact the Regional Coordinating Council in advance to schedule appointments. The complex operates during regular government working hours, Monday through Friday.
The Oti Region takes its name from the Oti River, a major tributary of the Volta River, and the region's creation fulfilled a decades-long aspiration of the people in the Oti enclave who felt geographically isolated from the former Volta Regional capital in Ho.
