The Ahafo Regional Coordinating Council (ARCC) is headquartered in **Goaso**, the capital of the Ahafo Region — one of Ghana's six newest regions created in 2019. The Ahafo Region was carved out of the then-Brong Ahafo Region when President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo's government fulfilled a campaign promise to split the large region. On 12 February 2019, the government announced the creation of six new regions, and Ahafo was formally inaugurated on 15 February 2019, with Goaso named as its capital. The region sits in the middle belt of Ghana, bordered by the Bono Region to the north, Bono East to the east, Ashanti Region to the south, and the Western North Region to the southwest. The Regional Coordinating Council is the central government's administrative arm in the region. It is headed by a **Regional Minister**, supported by a **Deputy Regional Minister**, a **Regional Coordinating Director** (the chief civil servant), and heads of the various decentralized departments — education, health, agriculture, social welfare, roads, and so on. The RCC's core mandate is to coordinate, monitor and evaluate the activities of the district assemblies in the region, and to serve as the link between central government and the districts. The Ahafo Region comprises six districts: - Asunafo North Municipal (Goaso) - Asunafo South District (Kukuom) - Asutifi North District (Kenyasi) - Asutifi South District (Hwidiem) - Tano North Municipal (Duayaw-Nkwanta) - Tano South Municipal (Bechem) The region is economically significant — it hosts major gold mining operations around Kenyasi (Newmont's Ahafo Mine) and substantial cocoa and timber production. That mining and agricultural wealth is a big part of why the region was carved out and given its own coordinating structure. If you need the exact street address, current Regional Minister, or a phone contact for the ARCC offices in Goaso, those change with appointments and I'd want a verified source for the very latest — the RCC is reachable through the Ahafo Regional Coordinating Council, Goaso, and the regional administration is listed on the official government portal.
